Are you the only Stove and Hot Tub retail store in Hood River, OR?
Yes we are! Since Mid-Columbia Pool and Spa closed in 2005 no Stove or Hot Tub store has had a physical presence in Hood River, OR.
We spent 10 years in Seattle, WA installing fireplaces for the largest fireplace dealer in the nation. (Richs for the Home.) We are one of the most experienced installers in the Columbia Gorge. We have installed over 3,000 stoves/fireplaces/inserts and 70,000 feet of gas line! The fireplace industry is a fun one to be involved in as more and more fireplaces are becoming very efficient. Gas fireplaces are especially looking increasingly realistic. Just in the last 5 years there have been great strides in improvements.
We are now an Authorized Dealer for Hearthstone, Regency, and Morso fireplaces. All of these manufactures produce eco-friendly stoves. We carry contemporary and traditional fireplaces. We have wood, gas, and pellet fireplaces. We offer a complete A-Z service when it comes to remodeling your fireplace. We can design, build, rebuild, and service your fireplace.
Give us a call or stop by the showroom if you have any fireplace questions.

No, we are not.
Mid-Columbia Pool and Spa closed up shop in Hood River, OR in 2005. We offer stoves & fireplaces, Hot Tubs, Installation, Service just like Mid-Columbia Pool and Spa did. Between 2005 and now, many homeowners went to Portland for these services. We are excited to be able to offer these products and services to the Columbia Gorge region. I want you to handle my whole fireplace remodel, can you do that?
Yes. We can take care of everything. We are licensed as a general contractor. When the homeowner tries to manage the whole process the common response is, " Wow! I didn't realize how hard this would be." So in most cases it is easier to have us manage the whole process for you.
Do you install stoves and supply the venting?
Yes! We are a turn-key operation. It usually takes us a half day to complete your installation.
I currently do not have gas coming to our house. Can you help me get that?
Yes. We can help you through the process of connecting with NW Natural or one of the propane companies in the area.
Can you run a gas line from my meter/tank to the gas appliance?
Yes. Our trucks are set up with all the necessary equipment to do that.
Do you have a showroom where I can see your product?
Our 2,000 sqf. showroom is located at 1414 12th st. Hood River, OR 97031. We've started out with 40 stoves & fireplaces on display, and many square feet of fine concrete samples. Come on by!
How does concrete compare to other countertops?
Concrete is in a class of it's own. You have complete control over size, shape, texture, and color. A person can choose anything from eccentric and contemporary - to an old world look. It's very easy to install an integrated sink with the countertop. Drain boards, cutting boards, fiber optics, can be incorporated into the countertop as well. We're also proud of the fact that there is very little waste. Our formulas are dialed in so that we end with no more than a couple handfuls of extra concrete. We can then use that to make stepping stones, dog bowls, or bookends, which we can sell or give away! :)
How much does concrete cost?
It is very comparible in cost to other countertops. Square foot cost can be between $65-$120 depending on complexity, color, and size of the job. The majority of the cost is in the labor. Most of the time is involved is the mold making, the pour, and the finishing process. It takes a skilled craftsman to be effecient and knowledgable in order to keep the cost competitive. Thank you for considering True Gorge Artisans.
Where do you create the concrete?
We create 95% of our pieces in our shop located in White Salmon, WA. (Some of our pieces need to be poured in place.)
Can I use my knife to cut on my concrete countertop?
Two things:
Concrete is VERY hard. Your knife doesn't stand a chance. If your knife was sharp when you started it won't be when you finish.
And: It would take some work... but the concrete can scratch.
When do I get my unique concrete?
That will depend on the size of the job and our work log. Most of our creations are finished within 2-4 weeks of final design and deposit.
